Digital Asset IRA Platforms

You can now invest in digital assets via your IRA. Some IRA providers are qualified custodians; others provide their services in conjunction with qualified custodians, digital wallets and digital asset exchanges.

In order to hold digital assets in your IRA, you must establish a “self-directed IRA” account that accepts digital assets. Self-directed IRAs let you buy all sorts of alternative investments, including gold, silver, real estate – and yes, digital assets.

A Digital Asset IRA custodian holds digital assets on behalf of the self-directed IRA. Some platforms require the self-directed IRA to establish an LLC to facilitate qualified ownership.
